The Pottery studio girls
$500.00
Round ceramic wall tile, 29 cm (11.4 inches) in diameter.
Handmade from white clay and double-fired up to 1200°C for durability.
This ceramic tile is inspired by a historic photograph depicting Armenian women and girls, including orphans who had survived the Armenian Genocide. In the 1920s, they worked in David Ohannessian’s workshop on Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, decorating ceramics with intricate designs.
Through this artwork, I aim to revive the resilience and beauty of that moment while honoring their memory.
Designed as a wall art piece, the tile has a built-in hanging fixture on the back, allowing it to be easily and securely mounted on the wall.
This piece is made as a one-of-a-kind work and will not be reproduced.
